A combined team from the Bermuda Police Service and Transport Control Department issued 63 tickets in a little more than an hour for a host of traffic offences on Crow Lane this morning.

Ten tickets were handed out for speeding, with 71km/h clocked as the highest speed.

Not wearing a seatbelt was the most common offence at 21, ten drivers were punished for mobile phone use, six were caught disobeying traffic signs, six were found to have illegal tint, and four had no driver’s licence. There were three unlicensed motorcycles, two illegal licence plates and one vehicle with no insurance.

A police statement said: “As a reminder, the joint initiative continues across the island and at all hours of the day or night.

“The best advice would be to engage in safe driving practices and make sure your vehicle is legally on the road.”
