Butterfield signs sponsorship deals
Bermuda triathlete Tyler Butterfield has signed two new sponsorship deals as he steps up his preparations for the Ironman World Championships in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
Butterfield has linked up with Rudy Project, an manufacturer of technologically advanced eyewear and helmets, and CeramicSpeed, a company that specialises in bike components.
The 30-year-old said he was “thoroughly impressed” by Rudy Project's new Wing57 time-trial helmet, which he was recently able to test on the Ironman course in Kona.
On his sponsorship deal with CeramicSpeed, Butterfield said: “I was eager to start a relationship with CeramicSpeed after learning all about their NASA-technology-based ceramic bearings. I'm looking forward to racing Kona more than ever now.”
The Ironman World Championships — the premier long-distance triathlon event of the season — will be held on October 12.
