Warwick crash claims 11th fatality of 2023

A man has died after a two-vehicle collision involving a car and a motorcycle in Warwick last night.

A police spokesman said that emergency services responded to a report of a serious collision on Middle Road, near the entrance to Belmont Hills Golf Course at about 9.17pm.

“Initial reports suggest that a man travelling east, attempted to overtake another vehicle, when he was involved in a collision with a motor car travelling in the opposite direction,” the spokesman said.

“The rider of the motorcycle was conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment, however, sadly he succumbed to his injuries.

“The driver of the car and his passenger were conveyed to KEMH for treatment of what has been described as superficial injuries.”

No further information about the deceased will be released until the next of kin have been informed.

The death is the eleventh on Bermuda’s roads this year.

Police urged anyone who may have witnessed this collision to call the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788.
