A male motorcyclist is being treated for a suspected head injury after his vehicle struck a kerb, police have said.

At about 8.08pm, officers were called to Middle Road near its junction with High Point Lane in Southampton to assist with a single-vehicle crash.

Early investigations suggest that the man was riding his motorcycle in an easterly direction when it struck a kerb in the eastbound lane.

The man has been taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.
