Rider suffers serious head injuries in Smith’s crash
A man is in hospital with serious head injuries after he appeared to have lost control of his motorbike and struck an embankment early this morning.
Police said the man was ejected from his bike after hitting the embankment.
He had been travelling east along Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s near Lolly’s Well Road some time before 2am when the incident occurred.
A police spokesman said: “Police and other first responders attended the scene where the motorcycle rider was attended to by EMTs, before he was transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, for further treatment of what are described as serious head injuries.”
Traffic was diverted from Harrington Sound Road between Middle Road and Harrington Hundreds Road while the scene was processed.
