Rider fighting for life after two-vehicle crash in Sandys
A motorcycle rider sustained life-threatening injuries following a collision between a livery cycle and a motorcycle in Sandys.
Police said that shortly before midnight on Monday, first responders were dispatched to the scene on Malabar Road, near the junction with Kitchener Road.
A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Police Service said: “Initial information suggests the vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when the collision occurred.
“The motorcycle rider was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with injuries described as life-threatening.
“The male and female occupants of the livery cycle were also transported to hospital for treatment of what are believed to be relatively minor injuries.”
Traffic in the area was at a standstill yesterday while police worked to clear the scene and investigate the collision.
Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who may have seen either vehicle travelling in the area prior to the incident to contact police by calling 211 at the earliest opportunity.
