Rider ‘seriously’ injured in Warwick collision

A male motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle collision in Warwick this evening, police said.

A spokeswoman said around 8.27pm, officers and other first responders attended the scene of a collision which involved a motor car and a motorcycle on South Road in Warwick, near the junction with Upland Lane.

She said: “Initial information suggests that both vehicles were travelling in an easterly direction when the motor car attempted to make a right hand turn into the Warwick Esso on South Road.

“At the same time, the motorcycle was attempting to overtake the car when the collision occurred.”

The rider was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital while the female driver of the motor car and her occupant were not reported to have been injured.

The scene was processed and the road is reopen to normal traffic.
