Two separate crashes affect traffic

A two-vehicle crash at about 5.15pm involving a motorcycle and a rental car on Blue Hole Hill in Hamilton Parish has been reported by police.

A spokeswoman said the two appeared to be travelling in opposite directions when the rental car attempted to make a right turn into the RUBiS service station, crossing the path of the motorcycle.

The motorcycle rider was taken to hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries was unknown, while the occupants of the rental car were not reported to be injured.

Police were processing the scene as of 6.20pm, with traffic being diverted around the collision. Delays were expected to be minimal.

A separate collision was reported at the junction of Middle Road and Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s. Minor delays should be expected.
