Scholarships website readies for third year

A local website displaying scholarships valued at more than $10 million is preparing for its third season running.

The website Bermudascholarships.com is asking all providers to update their details before it launches on Monday.

The non-profit site is run by the Centre on Philanthropy.

It listed 127 agencies offering awards last year, with 423 scholarship collectively worth $10.8 million, spokeswoman Danielle Riviere said,

A total of 1,980 student profiles were created last year, and 10,831 applications made the shortlist for scholarships.

Because students are already logging on to explore this year’s scholarships, Ms Riviere appealed to providers to check and update their profiles.

The website allows students who have created profiles and uploaded their documents to make simultaneous applications for multiple scholarships.
