Reading conference this weekend

‘Cementing a Strong Literate Foundation' will be the theme for the 2013 Conference of the Bermuda Reading Association at Fairmont Southampton Hotel on Saturday.

The charitable support network of professional educators, parents, community and business leaders will examine the latest techniques and information to promote literacy education in Bermuda.

Participants will hear from a number of guest speakers including a keynote address by Dr Michele Dufresne who will discuss the critical role teachers play in “ensuring young children become successful lifelong literacy learners”.

Her session will explore how “high expectations are set for each child, and how to shape curriculum and best practices so that every child will find it easy to learn”.

Tickets for the all-day conference are still available. For more information, e-mail info@bermudareading.org
