CedarBridge Academy students have been honoured for a host of academic, sport and community service achievements.

A prizegiving ceremony held at the school last Thursday saw five students named to the principal’s honours list — Taiyana Allen and Erin Fleming of S1; Husna Farooqui and Niambi Landy of S2 and Taahira Butterfield of S3.

A further 170 students were commended.

They were also urged by keynote speaker Shekar Robinson not to rest on their laurels — but to become community activists in their area of passion.

Said a spokesman: “The Board of Governors, faculty, staff and parents of the CedarBridge Academy would like to offer our congratulations to the Principal’s Honours List and Special Awards Winners for the Academic year 2012-2013.

“These students of excellence were part of the large array of prize winners that were celebrated at the Ruth Seaton James Center for Performing Arts.”

Under the patronage of Education Minister Nalton Brangman, CedarBridge principal Kalmar Richards and school’s faculty of the CedarBridge Academy celebrated students for reaching high in the arts, academia, theatre and community service.
