The National Debate Tournament will take place tomorrow.

The 29th annual tournament will feature 11 middle school and high school teams competing for the title of 2018 National Debate Champions.

Topics will involve lowering the voting age to 16 and banning electronic cigarettes in schools.

Gladstone Thompson, president of the Bermuda Debate Society, said: “We are incredibly happy to host another tournament and showcase the breadth of intelligence and skill possessed by our young debaters.

“We have a great line-up of teams who have been working hard to prepare for this tournament and we can’t wait to give the youth another opportunity to shine.”

The event will take place tomorrow at 10am at the Berkeley Institute.

Crowning the tournament’s champions will begin at 4pm, followed by awards for top coach and top individual speakers at 5.15pm.
