Celebrate end of school

A special event to celebrate the end of the school year takes place this weekend.

The School’s Out Fair, hosted by Youthvision Promotions will be held at Strykz Bowling Lounge in St David’s from noon to 7pm.

Desmond Crockwell, the director of Youthvision, said the fair would feature food, games and entertainment both inside the bowling alley and in the car park.

He added that the event was a response to the many back-to-school events that took place at the end of the summer.

Mr Crockwell explained: “We recognise that a lot of people have back-to-school events, but not a lot of people celebrate out-of-school events.

“Summertime is the fun time and we want children to kick that off with this event for our young people.”

Mr Crockwell said that the fair would also promote a better community spirit, which he said would help turn older children away from antisocial behaviour.

He added: “Summer is a vulnerable time for a lot of young people, so we want to see people and families come together and just have memorable times, because those are things that are needed.”

Mr Crockwell said: “People know that when we come, we bring a collaborative effort and a passion for our young people, so you can guarantee that every young person there will have safe fun.”

Strykz Bowling Lounge will offer food, bowling, arcade games and a lounge area for adults.

Outdoor activities will include face painting, laser tag, a fun castle and races with chances to win prizes.

Music will also be provided and magician Gary Robinson will entertain the crowds.
