Warwick Academy blue fun day

Warwick Academy students showed their school spirit for Giving Tuesday yesterday, starting with students dressing in blue, the school colour.

Jane Vickers, the school’s director of development, said the school’s annual giving day had taken a new twist, with students wearing blue noses and the bear ears of the school mascot.

Students spent the day fundraising for the three school causes: bursaries, a minibus and Warwick Academy’s marine science facility at its dock along Hamilton Harbour.

Ms Vickers said the minibus would help take cars off the road to bring in groups of students each morning, as well as transporting Warwick Academy’s sports teams.

The vehicle would also take students to the science facility, which will get equipment and tanks with the help of funds raised.
