A guidance session to help young Bermudians to earn scholarships will be held by the Department of Workforce Development today.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Labour said: “For many in our community, college and university educations are vital for securing employment opportunities in Bermuda.

“However, the cost of this education is high, and scholarships are essential to completing their education and obtaining a degree.

“To that end, in collaboration with Bermuda Scholarships, the Department of Workforce Development will hold a virtual guidance session on navigating bermudascholarships.com and providing strategies for creating robust scholarship applications.”

The masterclass on scholarship applications will be held today between 4pm and 5.30pm.

The department will also hold sessions designed to show scholarship hopefuls how to create a polished personal statement and essay next Tuesday and Thursday between 4pm and 5.30pm.

For more details, phone 297 7714 and to register for a session e-mail dwdlearning@gov.bm.
