Calling on coaches for young people’s personal development
A performance coaching programme that serves as a catalyst for personal transformation among young Bermudians is seeking 45 dedicated volunteer adult life coaches.
The Mirrors Programme announced the launch of its 2026-27 Community Programme Leadership Academy, with 40 coaches to be matched with young people in the CPLA and the remainder supporting its in-house restorative programme.
The journey begins with a 2½-day volunteer life coach training session in September, followed by a matching day where coaches meet their assigned young person.
The programme continues over eight months, from October to May 2027, with weekly coaching sessions and monthly experiential activities.
This year’s theme, “Transform Your Perspective”, reflects the programme’s commitment to helping young people in personal and academic goal-setting, leadership development, character-building and engaging activities, including partnerships with community organisations such as Toastmasters International.
Tinée Furbert, the Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors, said the coaching offers members of the community the chance to help young people become future leaders and change-makers.
Information sessions are held every Wednesday from this month through June 17, and can be arranged for organisations upon request. Registration is available online.
