Home Affairs announces $20,000 energy scholarship

Those looking for a career in energy technology are urged to apply to the Ministry of Home Affairs’ $20,000 Energy Scholarship (Photograph supplied)

The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced a $20,000 scholarship for those pursuing studies in energy-related and technical fields.

It builds on the ministry’s flagship energy scholarship programme, which offered two students $25,000 each this month.

Alexa Lightbourne, the Minister of Home Affairs, said: “This scholarship is not only about financial support, but about creating clear pathways for young people to contribute to Bermuda’s sustainability and resilience goals.”

Ms Lightbourne said she had been encouraged by the level of interest in the Government Career Fair, where the Department of Energy had the opportunity to connect with students and job seekers.

She added: “That enthusiasm reinforces the importance of initiatives like this, and I encourage all eligible individuals to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to be part of Bermuda’s energy future.”
