A $200,000 grant has “significantly strengthened technical education programmes at Bermuda College and enhanced workforce readiness across the Island”.

The Bermuda College Foundation also said the donation, which was made by the Chubb Charitable Foundation in December 2024, has enabled targeted upgrades across four key technical education division programmes at the college.

The boost went to Motor Vehicle Technology, Plumbing Technology, Electrical Wiring and the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning or HVAC programme.

The funding has been used to procure industry-standard tools, equipment and training platforms that reflect the latest workforce requirements.

Additionally, a portion of the investment has supported targeted facility enhancements, ensuring safe and improved learning environments that reflect the college’s commitment to student success and excellence.

“This investment is not just about equipment and learning resources. It is about creating pathways to meaningful careers, supporting innovation in teaching and learning and ensuring our students are prepared to meet the evolving needs of our economy.”

Lori Dunstan, executive director at the Chubb Charitable Foundation Bermuda, added: “Chubb is proud to support Bermuda College Foundation and the incredible work being done to prepare students for meaningful careers in technical fields of the future.

“This investment reflects our belief in the power of education to strengthen communities, expand opportunity and build a skilled workforce for generations of Bermudians.”
