Registration is open for children to take Portuguese classes during the 2026-27 academic year.

The Portuguese School of Bermuda teaches the language to primary school students across six grade levels.

A statement said classes are taught in accordance with the Quadro de Referência para o Ensino Português no Estrangeiro, the official framework for teaching Portuguese as a foreign language, and are scheduled to start on September 14.

It added that the school can keep its minimum donation amount low thanks to donors who support “expanded access to Portuguese instruction”.

Classes are delivered after school on the ground floor of the Vasco da Gama Club on Reid Street.

Prices for those who apply on or before August 21 are $275 for a single child and $200 for siblings and referrals and the rate is $350 for single child and $250 for siblings and referrals who submit applications by September 18.

Those who apply for the programme after September 19 must pay $400 for single child and $250 for siblings and referrals.

The school is offered through the Portuguese Cultural Association registered charity.
