Haunted Hallowe’en event this week

A Hallowe’en-themed lecture and story-reading this week will offer a night of Bermudian ghost stories and spooky folk tales.

Haunting Bermuda: Chilling Stories from the Isle of Devils will air on Friday with performances from puppeteer Alex Winfield and various storytellers.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Culture said: “Stories of the ghostly and eerie will be shared by John Cox and Kristin White from the historic lanes of St George's.”

Mr Cox is the coauthor of Bermuda’s Favourite Haunts and Ms White leads the tours for Haunted Histories around St George’s.

Rajai Denbrook will recount the stories from Florenz Maxwell’s The Spirit Baby & Other Bermudian Folktales.

The event, which is free, will be live-streamed at 8pm on the Department of Culture’s Facebook and YouTube pages, as well as on the Government CITV channel.
