A plan to breathe new life into the Bermuda’s carnival events was revealed today.

The Bermuda Mas Band Association will organise “Revel de Road”, started in partnership with Party People Entertainment, Nova Mas International and Code Red Bda.

A spokesman for the Bermuda Mas Band Association said yesterday: "We can't wait to see all of the masqueraders this year.

“We look forward to this being a positive change and seeing bands represent our local people.”

The BMBA, created to support masquerade bands during the pandemic, launched the plan after the Government announced an end to large group restrictions by the end of March.

The spokesman said that details of Revel de Road, to be held between June 17 and 20, would be released later.

He added that the event could have “a positive economic impact on the Bermuda community“ and encouraged the public to get behind the plan.

Revel de Road also signalled an end to BMBA’s participation in Bermuda Heroes Weekend events, including the BHW Band Launch and the BHW Parade of Bands.

The BMBA spokesman said: "We thank the BHW Ltd committee for all their efforts and wish them well with their events.

"The bands that make up the BMBA are looking forward to creating a new and refreshing experience that highlights Bermudian talent, culture and artists, designers and people."
