Planning has started for next year’s carnival celebrations, the Bermuda Mas Band Association said.

According to BMBA, which took over the planning for all carnival in Bermuda events earlier this year, the 2023 season will kick-off in January and February, when each band will display their themes and costumes for the year.

An organisation spokeswoman said that it was committed to improving the quality of carnival events.

She said: “Start getting your costume down payment ready and telling your international friends to secure their flights.

“With the country now being completely open and the travel authorisation coming to an end – and the reintroduction of the free and easy Bermuda Arrival Card – getting to our beautiful island is now easier than ever.

“We are looking forward to taking this journey with all of you as we work to make 2023 carnival an epic experience.”

The main carnival events will be held over the National Heroes’ Day weekend, June 16 to 19.

Businesses who want to sponsor any of the upcoming festivities can e-mail info@carnivalinbermuda.com.
