Bermuda provides backdrop for crime novelist

One of the world’s most prolific authors has trained his bestselling brand on Bermuda.

James Patterson’s Murder in Bermuda, co-authored with Thaddeus McCants and Aaron Tracy, is an audiobook promising a high body count with “blackmail, corruption, arson, catfishing and sex tapes intertwined”.

Voiced by actor Mary-Louise Parker, the protagonist, Beth, is drawn into danger after she moves to “the beautiful island of Bermuda to set up a tax haven for her family”.

She rediscovers her faith in the law after teaming up with Bermuda residents Tony Durant, a former lawyer for the Ministry of Justice in London, and Serena Steede, a private investigator.

The trio end up in a race for their own lives to crack the case.

The story, available online via Audible, was published in May.

Mr Patterson is the creator of the top-selling Alex Cross detective series. He is the author of more than 200 novels.

More than 425 million copies of his works, including non-fiction, romance and young adult literature, have sold worldwide.
