Inclement weather has forced the Corporation of Hamilton to make changes to its Rockin’ Around the City Christmas event tonight.

A city spokeswoman said that Santa’s Visit will be moved inside City Hall where children can take photos with him.

The live performances have also been cancelled as the rain has made the outdoor stage unsafe for performers.

Lorna Hayward, the city’s senior events co-ordinator, said: “We appreciate everyone’s understanding and support as we adapt to the weather.

“These changes ensure we can still bring the community together to celebrate this cherished holiday tradition.”

The Mayor’s Christmas Reception will still proceed as planned, with no changes to the schedule or arrangements.

The City Hall Christmas Tree lighting will still take place at 7pm, with complimentary hot chocolate available.

Tomorrow’s Voices will also host their donation booth under the sheltered area of the City Hall porch.
