Performers are set to deliver improvised hilarity for charity at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute next week.

The “Stunnerset” and “St Gorgeous” teams will compete for laughs during the sixth Comedy Cup Match, presented by the Bermuda Improv Group, on July 17 and 18.

Alan Brooks will umpire and award points to each of the five-person teams, who will perform scenes based on audience suggestions, during the hour-long shows in BUEI’s Tradewinds Auditorium.

Stunnerset and St Gorgeous will be captained by Toby Butterfield and Julia Pitt respectively, and earn points based on the volume of applause received.

All net proceeds will benefit the BUEI and Family Centre, with the latter organisation set to receive earnings from drink sales.

Producer Alan Gilbertson said: “For the last two years, the Comedy Cup Match sold out and the atmosphere was fantastic.

“We’ll try to make this year’s match even more fun — wear your team colours, bring your flags and make some noise for your team. Above all, have a good laugh.”

The shows will begin at 8pm. Drinks will be available in the BUEI lobby from 7pm.
