Free film series returns to Hamilton after rain delay
The City of Hamilton’s Fresh Air Films series will take to Albuoy’s Point this month after being pushed back because of weather concerns.
On August 29, the city will screen Pixar’s animated Elio at 6pm, with a screening of Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning following at 8.30pm.
Admission is free with proof of purchase from a city business. Attendees are asked to bring a receipt totalling $25 or more, dated between May 1 and August 29.
The receipts will also be entered into a raffle, with prizes including a flatscreen television and a scenic flight for two with Blue Sky Flights.
Each receipt permits entry for up to four, and guests are welcome to stay for both films.
Lorna Hayward, senior events co-ordinator for the City of Hamilton, said: “While we were disappointed to postpone the original June event due to the weather, we're thrilled to welcome everyone back on August 29.
“As families prepare for the return to school, Fresh Air Films offers the perfect opportunity to slow down, spend quality time together and enjoy one last summer evening on the waterfront.”
Gates open at 5pm and attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs along with friends and family for a memorable evening by the water.
In addition to the films, the evening will include family-friendly entertainment and activities ahead of showtime, including a live game of Kahoot where participants can compete for prizes.
Food and refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the evening from a variety of vendors.
