Island will be represented at Sustainable Development conference

Sustainable Development director Charles Brown is to attend a conference in Guyana on tourism development this week.Bermuda hosted the Caribbean Conference on Sustainable Tourism Development last year.Mr Brown will discuss a number of issues while there, including the Sargasso Sea Initiative, the Bermuda Plan 2008, the Protected Species Act and the economic valuation of the Island’s coral reefs.According to Environment Minister Marc Bean, the conference offers a prime opportunity to network with Caribbean tourism industry leaders to get the latest “cutting-edge sustainable tourism issues, trends and best practices from regional and international experts.The five-day conference runs April 15 through April 19.
