A Bermuda College student has won an environmental charity's logo competition.

Anthony Buckley used elements of Keep Bermuda Beautiful's green “tidy man” logo and added a “Bermuda pink” border for the Adopt-a-Spot Logo Design Competition.

KBB's board of directors narrowed the entries down to a shortlist of six and members of the public voted for their favourite on the KBB Facebook page.

His logo will be used for the KBB Adopt-a-Spot programme, which allocates areas to people or groups, who undertake to keep them clean.

The competition attracted 30 entries from amateur and professional graphic designers.

Avarie Graham, a professional designer who works at Strata-G, a Hamilton advertising and marketing agency, was the runner-up.

The other finalists were Andrew Young, Sean Collier, Oliver Riihiluoma and Anastasia Azzario.

Anne Hyde, the executive director of KBB, said: “The Adopt-a-Spot initiative encourages locals to adopt a park, beach, bus shelter or trail and periodically do clean-ups in that location.

“We are blown away by the talent.”

Mr Buckley won a “staycation” for two nights at The Reefs Hotel in Southampton.
