Belco will talk to the public about its efforts to reduce emissions at its Pembroke plant at an online forum on Thursday.

A spokesman for the energy provider said the forum, to begin at 5.30pm, will “include updates on the company’s sustainability strategy and emissions reduction efforts followed by a question-and-answer session for members of the public”.

Anyone who wants to participate in the forum is asked to register online at www.belco.bm/public-forum/ and submit questions on www.slido.com using the code #belcojuly2021.

The energy provider will also be the focus of a television broadcast on ZBM at 8pm tomorrow.

Wayne Caines, Belco president, said: “At Belco, we are keen to engage the public and outline our plans for creating a sustainable energy future in Bermuda.

“I would encourage members of the public to tune into ZBM TV 9 at 8pm on Wednesday and also register for the online forum on Thursday and ask any questions they may have about our current and future operations.”

The show will feature Mr Caines along with Shelly Leman, managing director of transmission, distribution and retail, Nadir Wade, managing director of bulk generation, Mark Pacheco, director of business continuity and occupational health safety and environment and Krista Barnes, director of communications and sustainability.
