Go Green this November in support of sustainable living

The family that conserves together: Greenrock will host Living Green Expo 2023 on November 19, 2023 at the Royal Naval Dockyard, Sandys (Graphic submitted)

All things environmentally friendly go on display courtesy of the charity Greenrock this November with the Living Green Expo in Dockyard.

On November 19, from 10am to 6pm, the expo hosts a string of healthy activities including yoga, qigong, a 25km bike ride and cycle race from City Hall in Hamilton up to Dockyard, a 5km walk and run through Dockyard and Ireland Island, and a Vendor Village in The Shed on Freeport Drive with a vegan food court and an automotive show for zero-emission vehicles.

Eugene Dean, the event organiser, said the expo had been put together as a public platform for businesses in the green economy.

Its aim is “to showcase natural, holistic, sustainable and environmentally friendly products and services to the broader community”.

He added: “The event is designed to encourage growth and collaboration within the industry while creating educational opportunities by sharing innovative ideas and demonstrating simple methods that inspire us to live naturally and think sustainably each and every day.”

Mr Dean said the expo aimed to help vendors to raise their public profiles and work together.

Greenrock called on non-profits, businesses and entrepreneurs with sustainable products or services in the green economy such as organic farming, LED lighting, energy-efficient appliances, renewable energy, zero-emission vehicles, natural health and beauty, sustainable living and holistic health products or services, to sign up with application forms on the charity’s website.

Greenrock is calling on corporate entities to support the initiative as sponsors, and schools and community organisations to register teams of ten people or more to take part.

All funds raised through sponsorship and registration will be allocated to the Living Green Expo.

Any excess funds will be used in support of Greenrock’s community programmes, services and events.
