Sierra Wolffe led the charge for Bermuda’s equestrians at the Grand Caraibes Jumping Championship.

Held last month, the island’s representatives, coached by Raishun Burch and accompanied by Heidi Shelley Mello, competed on horses loaned from stables on the island of Guadeloupe against 52 riders from eight countries, including Antigua, Bahamas, French Guiana, Martinique, St Martin and Suriname.

Riders competed over two days on courses made by FEI course designer Joseph Martin, of France, being judged over two rounds against the clock and with a jump-off in the event of ties in the first round.

It was Wolffe who excelled across both days, winning the Overall Elite Category after finishing second in a field of 21 riders in the Elite division (0.95m) on day one and fifth on day two.

Kimoy Cruickshank finished tied for third overall in the Grand Prix category after finishing third of 17 in the Grand Prix class (1.05-1.10m) on day one and seventh on day two.

Emma Kempe finished twelfth overall in the Espoir category. She finished 24th of 38 in the class (0.85-0.90m) on the opening day and sixth on day two.
