A buzz is building around Dockyard

Anticipation building: Holding

“Activity is already buzzing at Dockyard,” said well-known artist Carole Holding who operates two retail shops in the area.

“The development at Cross Island and the anticipation of the America’s Cup finals next year have really created a lot of interest and enthusiasm at the West End of the island.

“A world-class event of this level is a significant opportunity to showcase Bermuda to the world and it’s up to all of us to prepare to deliver the products and services to the international clientele who will descend on our shores for the finals next year,” said Ms Holding, who sells art, Bermuda-themed gifts and gourmet foods.

“America’s Cup Bermuda and Wedco have worked very hard to develop the infrastructure that will be needed next summer.

“Bermuda has a long way to go in paying for its deficit and I am sure that the America’s Cup will be an important boost to the economy.”

Carole runs two shops in Dockyard: one in the Clocktower Mall and the second on the pier at Heritage Wharf.
