Watch: Nathan Trott victimised by controversial late equaliser

Nathan Trott conceded last-minute goal against Silkeborg

Bermudian goalkeeper Nathan Trott controversially conceded a 99th-minute equaliser as his FC Copenhagen failed to take the chance to go top of the Danish Superliga on Monday night.

Trott appeared to be fouled and fell to the ground as a corner was played into the box deep into added time before Alexander Simmelhack prodded the ball into the net to secure a 2-2 draw for his Silkeborg side.

Copenhagen had taken the lead twice in the game through Danish striker Andreas Cornelius and a penalty by left back Kevin Diks, only to be pegged back on both occasions through a Tonni Adamsen spot-kick and the late strike by Simmelhack

A win for Copenhagen would have sent them to the top of the Superliga with 14 games of the 22-match season completed but instead they now sit third on 26 points, a point behind leaders Midtjylland and behind Aarhus only on goal difference.

It promises to big a big week for Trott, with Copenhagen scheduled to play second-placed Aarhus in the league on Sunday night just three days after playing İstanbul Basaksehir in the Europa Conference League, in which Copenhagen sit 25th in the new 36-team format after losing to Polish side Jagiellona Bialystok and drawing 1-1 with Real Betis in their opening two games.
