Bermuda squad named to take on World Cup qualifiers Cape Verde
A young Bermuda squad have flown to the United States to take part in a training camp and two friendly matches.
The senior men’s national team will play against USL Championship side Rhode Island, managed by Bermudian Khano Smith, on Wednesday before heading to Connecticut to play Cape Verde.
Bermuda will take on Cape Verde at the Pratt & Whitney Stadium in Hartford on Saturday at 4pm, with the African team using the match as their final preparation for the World Cup. Their first match is against European champions Spain on Monday, June 15, while they also play Uruguay and Saudi Arabia in Group H.
The match against Cape Verde will be the second time in recent weeks that Bermuda have played a team who will be in action at the World Cup after they lost 2-0 to the Democratic Republic of Congo in an international friendly in March.
