LeiLanni Nesbeth has joined Como Women

Footballer Leilanni Nesbeth has swapped the United States for Europe after joining Italian club Como.

Nesbeth has signed a two-year contract until June 30, 2028, after mutually agreeing to terminate her contract US side Chicago Red Stars last month.

The 25-year-old was announced as Como’s latest signing on the club website on Saturday morning and is looking forward to displaying her talent on a new continent.

"I'm truly excited to begin this new chapter with Como Women,“ Nesbeth said.

“Every experience throughout my journey has helped me grow both as a player and as a person and I can't wait to continue that growth in Italy.

“I want to bring my energy and personality to the team, contribute to the Club's success, and give my all to help us achieve our goals.”

Como Women play in Serie A Femenino, the top tier of women’s football in Italy. They finished eighth in the 12-team league last season and are managed by Paolo Tramezzani, a former defender who played for Inter Milan, Piacnza and Tottenham Hotspur during his playing career.

Nesbeth has represented Bermuda at youth level, competing in the 2018 Concacaf Women's Under-17 Championship and the 2020 Women's Under-20 Championship. She made her senior debut for the Bermuda Women's National Team during the qualifiers for the 2022 Concacaf Women’s Championship.
