Deniche Hill is hoping to keep fans “off the edge of their seats” after completing a move to National League side FC Halifax Town.

The 22-year-old Bermuda defender has joined the Shaymen from National League North outfit Buxton FC after agreeing to the terms of an undisclosed deal.

“Obviously I’m delighted to get across the line and thank God for giving me this opportunity and just excited to get started,” Hill said.

“I had a really good preseason and some positive feedback from the coaching staff and the fans online, so I’m just happy and ready to start.

“I’ve been with the gaffer [John McGrath] over a year now so obviously I know the way he wants to play. I think his game style suits me so hopefully I can just get cracking on now and start winning games.

“The fans can expect an attacking full back. Someone that wants to get them off the edge of their seats, an exciting front foot-type of player, so hopefully I can provide that.”

Hill, who came through the youth set-up at Hamilton Parish before making the move to England, made 23 league appearances with Buxton last season.

He joined the Bucks last summer after leaving Sky Bet League One side Leicester City where he spent nearly three years.

Having featured for the Foxes’ under-21 squad in the Football League Trophy, Hill earned his first contract with the club in December 2022.

The son of former Bermuda winger Corey Hill, was spotted by Leicester scouts while playing with the national team.

Hill, who came up through the youth ranks at Hamilton Parish, also had a trial at compatriot Nahki Wells’s former club Huddersfield Town before being recruited by the Foxes.

He featured in Bermuda’s unsuccessful 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, as well as the Gombey Warriors’ friendly against Cape Verde, who featured prominently at World Cup this summer.
