Vasco produced the biggest upset in domestic football at the weekend after coming away with a hard fought 3-2 win over heavily fancied Boulevard at Devonshire Rec on Friday night.

Marco Silva Diogo gave the Portuguese club the lead in the 23rd minute and things got even better for them after Boulevard’s Cole Summers scored an own goal in the 68th minute.

Vasco’s Ludgero Soares and Blazers’ Reiko Trott then traded goals in the 75th minute.

Doreiko Walker pulled another goal back for Blazers two minutes later to make things interesting but Vasco held on to claim the points.

Elsewhere, ten-man Hamilton Parish edged Southampton Rangers 2-1 at Wellington Oval on Sunday.

Aaron Burgess put Parish ahead in the thirteenth minute before Kion Knights extended the home side’s lead in the 49th minute.

Parish were reduced to ten men in the 67th minute after Santiago Roe received a straight red card for committing a serious foul on an opponent.

Rangers pulled one back through Kevon Douglas’ 89th-minute strike to set up a nervous finish but Parish managed to hold on for the win.

The remaining First Division match featured Denhem Minors’ 83rd-minute winner earning hosts St David’s Warriors a narrow 1-0 win over Wolves at Lord’s on Sunday.

Somerset Eagles, the Shield champions, had a bye last weekend.
