An investigation has been launched at the Westgate Correctional Facility after the sudden death of an inmate.

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of National Security confirmed the death early yesterday afternoon.

The spokeswoman said: “The incident is currently under investigation. At this stage it would be premature to comment on the matter any further.

“The Ministry takes this opportunity to extend condolences to the family of the deceased.”
