Cars backed up after paving work closes one Bull’s Head entrance

No entry: the Canal Street entrance to Bull’s Head car park will be closed over the weekend (Photograph by Gareth Finighan)

The Canal Street entrance to Bull’s Head car park has been closed off to allow paving work to be carried out.

But motorists can still access the car park from the Elliot Street entrance.

Cars were backed up this morning as motorists tried to enter the facility – only to find barriers blocking the entrance.

A spokeswoman for the Corporation of Hamilton said that the work will be carried out throughout the weekend “to cause the least amount of disruption to daily commuters“, but should be complete by Monday.

The spokeswoman said: “Bull’s Head car park is open but is inaccessible from the Canal Street entrance. The car park can only be accessed from the Elliot Street entrance until paving is complete.

“The City apologises for any inconvenience caused to morning commuters today and asks for the public’s patience as we seek to improve our city’s roadways.

“Anyone who parked in the car park today and was swiped in can use the lost ticket option on the terminal for $5 parking fee, or call the Traffic Management representative at 531-5254.”
