Garbage collection over the Christmas and new year holidays will run on a reduced schedule, the City of Hamilton announced.

The last collection before Christmas will run on Saturday, with trash to be bagged and in place by 4pm.

There will be no pick-up after 8pm — and no collection on Christmas Day through December 27.

The normal schedule resumes on December 28.

Trash to be collected on New Year’s Eve should be placed on sidewalks by 4pm, with no pick-ups after 8pm.

No collections are scheduled for New Year’s Day or January 2.

The regular schedule resumes on January 3.

Garbage should be placed in designated collection areas or in wheelie bins provided by the City.

The public are asked to not put trash out on sidewalks on days when there is no scheduled collection.
