Blackwatch Pass to close on Saturday to remove vegetation

Black Watch Pass will be temporarily closed to traffic on Saturday as work to remove vegetation resumes.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works said the road would be closed between 7am and 5pm on January 29.

While the work was originally expected to be completed earlier this month, bad weather conditions on the weekend of January 14 forced the project to be postponed.

“Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use alternative routes via North Shore Road or Marsh Folly Road during the road closure,” the spokesman said.

“There will be no access granted for pedestrians during this road closure due to the anticipation of ongoing falling debris.”
