International fundraising experts shared their knowledge with local charity staff as part of an event organised by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Bermuda.

Natalie Skinner and Kris Kuhns, from New York-based CCS Fundraising, spoke to local fundraising professionals, non-profit board members and Tinée Furbert, the Minister of Social Development and Seniors, at the event.

The discussion focused on philanthropic trends, how to engage non-profit boards, attracting donors and strategies for fundraising.

Ann Spencer-Arscott, the executive director of the Bermuda Red Cross, and Katie Bennett, advancement officer at the National Museum of Bermuda — the co-presidents of AFP Bermuda — said the event was beneficial for all involved.

They said in a statement: “It was incredibly helpful to hear from Natalie and Kris during our first in-person AFP Bermuda meeting since the pandemic began.

“We are grateful to them for taking time out of their busy schedule to share their expertise with local fundraising professionals. We all learnt a lot.”
