Artists have been invited to submit design ideas for promotional T-shirts for the fifth annual motorcade.

Organisers of the Scooter Mart Bermuda Charge put out a call today for entries to design prints for T-shirts that will be worn during Motor Fest 441.

The top designer will win $441, while two runners-up will receive $202.30 each.

Whitney Butterfield, the director of the Bermuda Charge, said: “We’re a very creative organisation, and we thought it would be fun to run a bike life T-shirt contest.

“Think of V80s, Mobys and Cubs — think of ride-outs and race meets.

“Bermuda’s vibrant bike culture is authentic, and we want to support local artists in bringing this to the forefront.”

The contest is open to Bermudian or Bermuda-resident artists of all ages, professionals or amateurs alike.

The submission must be the artist’s original work and can be in the form of illustrations, digital artwork or high-resolution scans of drawings or paintings.

Artists will be asked to provide a few words about Bermuda’s motorcycle culture.

A committee headed by Ilya Cherapau, of McGinger Design Lab, will choose a winning artist and the two runners-up.

The winners will be announced during the prize presentations at Motor Fest 441 on July 2 on Front Street, Hamilton.

All of the artwork will be printed on T-shirts that will be worn at the motorcade, and each artist will receive a trophy and a cash award.

The winning design will also feature as a small batch item sold at Sneaker Plug in St George's.

• Entries must be submitted by June 18 by e-mailing info@bermudacharge.com
