A Bermudian student pursuing studies in medical sciences has been recognised at Albert College’s 166th Convocation.

On Saturday, the college in Ontario, Canada recognised the Class of 2023 including Bermudian Samantha Davies, from Devonshire.

The college said that Ms Davies graduated as an Ontario Scholar, with an average of more than 80 per cent in her Grade 12 subjects.

It said in a statement: “Samantha has attended Albert College for four years, participating in this year’s trip to the Yukon Territory in Canada, skiing, dog sledding and ice fishing with her peers, and the many events held at the boarding house where she held a leadership role.

“Samantha was team captain of the senior girls’ soccer team, winning most valuable player and conspicuous service awards this year. She also coached the middle school soccer team and was a committed member of the Albert College Jazz Band. In the fall, she will attend the University of Edinburgh for the Bachelor of Science in medical sciences.”

Albert College is an international boarding and day school for students from Canada and more than 20 countries and territories around the world, including Bermuda, Jamaica, Nigeria, Mexico, China, Hong Kong and Germany.
