A 23-year-old man died after he reportedly fell into the water in Dockyard yesterday.

A police spokesman said that at around 9.15am on Saturday police received a report that a man had fallen from a wall at Cross Island in Sandys and failed to resurface.

“Apparently another individual at Cross Island jumped into the ocean in an attempt to rescue the submerged male, but was unsuccessful,” the spokesman said.

“Police officers and Coastguard personnel responded to the location and sadly, recovered the lifeless body of a 23-year-old man. The scene was processed but foul play is not suspected.”
