East and West will get an early cricket showdown ahead of next week’s Cup Match classic, with the public urged to come out and cheer for young players at the Mini Cup Match tomorrow.

The prelude starts at 10am at Devonshire Recreation Club, and features the Government’s summer day camp students.

Mini Cup Match is aimed at building excitement for the upcoming holiday, and provides young people an opportunity for teamwork, sportsmanship and camaraderie.

Owen Darrell, the Minister of Youth, Culture and Sport, joined campers in practice at Northlands Primary School — speaking with camp counsellors and students focused on delivering an exciting match.

Parents, supporters and diehard cricket fans are encouraged to attend.
