Taste of Bermuda tickets are now available for purchase through Premier Tickets.

The event is a weekend dedicated to showcasing the foods of Bermuda and local culinary talent.

From October 13 to 15, the public is invited to celebrate the community and the many eateries on the island.

Jessica Astwood, the City’s director of marketing and communications, believes that this year's event will turn the City into a buzzing food hub with thousands of attendees, as was the case over the ten previous years.

“Taste of Bermuda appeals to such a wide range of Bermuda’s residents and visitors — from those seeking family-friendly activities for the weekend to those interested in unique, memorable eating, drinking and entertainment experiences and anyone with a simple love of food!” she said.

Over that weekend, three events will take place within the City of Hamilton.

The first is the “Set the Bar: Cocktail Competition” on October 13 from 6pm to 11pm.

To be held at the Pier Six complex, it will feature a premier cocktail competition curated by Bermuda’s elite bartenders.

Guests can vote live for their favourite drinks during the Friday sunset happy hour.

With a $40 ticket, guests can sample each showcased cocktail and visit a “smash-tini bar” and an afterparty with DJ Chubb.

As this event is only for those 18 year and over, an ID is essential.

“Front Street Formal: Live Dining Experience” will be held on October 14.

Between Queen and Parliament streets, Front Street will be closed for a night of fine dining.

Guests must adhere to the mandatory all-white formal dress code.

From 7pm to 10pm, a three-course meal will be served with premium wine pairings.

DJ Rusty G will host an afterparty from 10pm to midnight, and the guests are invited to cap the night with dancing under the stars.

For VIP seating, the tickets are $240, and general-admission seating is $200. The afterparty is $40.

“Tasting Village: Festival Flavours”, the weekend finale, will take place on Front Street.

This free festival will turn Front Street into an open-air food market for adults and children.

A live culinary stage will feature real-time cooking demonstrations by local chefs as well as entertainment.

For the children, a kids’ zone with free activities and eating competitions will be available.

The food and beverages on offer can be purchased using a token system set up by the City of Hamilton to keep lines moving.

The tokens are $3 and $6, with the refreshments sold in $3 increments.

Tokens are available in advance and will be ready for collection from October 10 to 12.

The City thanked BGA, Bacardi, Burrows Lightbourn and the Exclusive Group of Companies for their sponsorship of the event.

• To participate as a competitive bartender, as a vendor or as a live chef, those interested are invited to fill out an application. For more information, visit cityofhamilton.bm
