A community garden has taken root at the former TN Tatem Middle School in Warwick.

Aaron Crichlow, of the group Bermuda is Love, said nine volunteers got together at the garden yesterday, where the community group rents three plots.

“We invited the public to join us learning about gardening and tilling the soil,” Mr Crichlow said. “We cleared and dug the plots and got planting.”

The group planted kale, cauliflower, cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce.

Along with sharing the bounties the garden and teaching the cultivation of vegetables, the programme is intended to heighten awareness of food security in Bermuda.
