Government Administration Building back in business after closure

The Government Administration Building on Parliament Street (File photograph)

A main government building had to briefly close its doors this week as the Ministry of Public Works addressed “unforeseen issues”.

The Ministry of Public Works said problems were discovered in the Government Administration Building on Parliament Street in Hamilton while staff worked to repair the building’s air conditioning system.

The building was closed yesterday — but will be back open for business today with the refurbishment completed earlier than expected.

Several government departments operating from the GAB had to move to the third floor of the General Post Office building in the interim.

The ministry apologised for the inconvenience.
