Alumni, prospective students and partners of Bermuda College will have the opportunity to meet the president of a Canadian university at a reunion on Wednesday.

Joël Dickinson, the president of Mount Saint Vincent University, is visiting Bermuda along with Aris Hernandez, international student recruitment officer and an MSVU alumni representative from Bermuda.

Dr Dickinson is described by MSVU as “an accomplished academic administrator”.

She was previously dean of the Faculty of Arts at Laurentian University and has also held the positions of acting associate vice-president of teaching and learning, and chair of the university’s Department of Psychology.

A spokeswoman for the university said: “Dr Joël Dickinson is delighted to be visiting Bermuda this week, her first visit since taking on the role of president at MSVU in 2022.

“Bermuda holds special meaning for Dr Dickinson because of family connections to the island.

“This past year, MSVU has been celebrating its 150th anniversary and we’re excited to wrap up a year of celebration with an alumni reunion in Bermuda.

“We’re deeply proud of our alumni community and look forward to gathering with them this week.”

The event is from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.
